In Ajanta Naganandi became angry by seeing a painting which showed a dancer begging in front of the emperor. He killed the painter. Pulakesin and Naganandi quarrel over Sivagami. Pulakesin insisted to forget Sivagami.At that time he gets the information of war.

Pallavas had to decide whether to attack Vathapi or to attack Pulakesin in Ajanta. Though Maanavanman and others wanted to attack Vathapi fort first since it was their aim, Narsimha agreed to Chatrugna's and Paranjyothi's view of attacking Pulakesin first. So they ordered a small force to beseige the fort and the rest to follow towards Ajanta.

Pulakesin was attacked on his way to Vathapi. After a fierce battle he was killed. Then after three days of war not even a single Chalukya was left. But they could not find Pulakesin's body. So, Narsimha made the arrangements to get the body if found and left for Vathapi.

Pulakesin's body was taken away from the battlefield by a cannibal who wanted to marry Naganandi. Naganandi gets it from her and cremates it secretly. Then he disguises himself as Pulakesin.

After one week Narsimha discussed with others to start immediately attacking the fort. He feared that a letter requesting peace may come and spoil his intention of fulfilling her vow. As he expected he got the message.Though everyone agreed to have peace Maanavanman insisted on attacking. Paranjyothi stressed to withdraw.He said so because he had a letter from Sivagami , written on request from the chief of the fort, requesting to stop the attack. She felt proud on the request made by the chief of the fort. Actually Sivagami wanted her ow to be fulfilled.

This letter made Narsimha very angry. He did not want her to order Pallavas according to her wish. He wanted to continue for the prestige of Pallavas.He appointed Maanavanman as chief. Paranjyothi felt insulted. Everyone was scared by seeing Narsimha's anger.Actually Maanavanman did not want to have enemity with Paranjyothi so he did not accept the offer. Then Paranjyothi agreed to attack the fort. Maamalla was delighted. But Paranjyothi requested for three more days for preparation. Narsimha unwillingly agreed to this. This was for getting Sivagami safely out first. Chatrugna, Gundodhara and others were trying to find whether there is any secret way to go into the fort. Paranjyothi himself searched around the fort. There he saw an idol of Lord Ganesh. He prayed sincerely that if he is successful he will take this Ganesh to his native village and construct a temple for him.So he brought it to his tent.

By this time Naganandi reached there as Pulakesin. So, there is no chance of withdrawal. Pallavas started to attack.People of Vathapi scolded her for the war. This made her to regret of what written by her. She wanted Narsimha to continue the war and fulfil her vow.

Chatrugna returned and said a cannibal is living in that secret way and it is not so easy to reach through that. From the cannibal's words they also understood that only Naganandi is there as Pulakesin.Then Paranjyothi asked Narsimha to stay out, for safety. Paranjyothi had responsibility to hand over Sivagami to Aayanar for himself. He did not want Narsimha to meet her first this time as before.He also ordered others, especially Maanavanman to carry the wealth of treasury.After a short time Narsimha could see Vathapi burning just in front of his eyes. He could feel the historic moment of his life is going on.

Sivagami was restless. She did not sleep the whole night. She could understand that her vow is being fulfilled after nine long years. She was completely satisfied. She could see people running aimlessly, crying for help. Some who crossed her house were scolding her.

Cannibal who wanted to marry Naganandi came there to kill her. But she was saved by Naganandi. The cannibal was asked to kill the first person who enters Sivagami's house by Naganandi. (Naganandi felt only Narsimha would come to meet Sivagami first). But Kannan who was carrying Paranjyothi entered. He was immediately killed by her. Sivagami fainted by seeing this.

Naganandi carried her in no time through a secret way in the well ,behind her house after stabbing the cannibal. By the meantime, Paranjyothi reached there.Cannibal thought him as Maamalla said the way they went and also asked to kill Sivagami as she eloped with Naganandi. He had already got the message from Maanavanman of Pulakesin missing. Since he know it was Naganandi, he was scared about his intention. He entered the well with few warriors. He found him carrying her. Naganandi could no go further because Chatrugna came through the other end of the secret way. Naganandi was trapped. He tried to kill Sivagami with his poisoned knife. But Paranjyothi cut his hand. His life was spared after revealing the secret of Ajanta to Paranjyothi which he was supposed to find out for Aayanar long time back. He said that he tried to kill Sivagami to save from her future.

Sivagami wanted to see Kannan's dead body. So, all went back to her house. When she was weeping, Maamalla and Aayanar entered the house. Paranjyothi felt relieved of his duty. Maamalla could not control his anger after seeing his charioteer and friend Kannan dead. He scolded Sivagami for this. He came to know that Naganandi wanted to kill her to save her from the future. He immediately understood that Naganandi meant him. Later Aayanar and Sivagami was sent to Kanchi.

Before leaving, Maamalla said to all his soldiers who have assembled there that the credit of the victory goes to Paranjyothi. But Paranjyothi wanted to resign the post. He wanted to live rest of his life as Shiva's devotee. Though he asked only for Lord Ganesh's idol Maamalla gave many gifts to him. The next day Paranjyothi left the place as a devotee.

Then one day Sivagami was sitting near the pond behind her house. Her life in Vathapi seemed to be a dream. At that time she could hear the arrival of the horses. Maamalla and his friend Maanavanman came there. Maamalla was telling him about the past. Also he mentioned that something was impossible. She could hear there conversation completely.

On an auspicious day Maamalla was suppossed to enter Kanchi.(Before this they were staying near Kanchi).Sivagami came to Kamali's house to watch this procession. Kamali scolded her for Kannan's death. Then on seeing the procession she came to know that Maamalla got married to a Pandya Princess and now they have got children. She carried for a long time. Then she decided to remain unmarried and dance in a temple.

After three months when she was dancing in temple, she was dancing by singing the same song which once sang and fainted thinking of Maamalla. But now her concentration is only towards Lord Shiva. Maamalla saw her dance standing among the audience and went away controlling his feelings.
