After a long time Sivagami met her friend Kamali. Now she meets her as a mother of a child(son). There she comes to know about that Narsimha had gone to fight with Pandya. (Before this she was assuming that Maamalla was also seeing her dance in the court). She felt that she was cheated by Mahendra Pallava to dance in front of Pulakesin when he was not there. She wanted to meet him immediately. Aayanar wanted to meet Pulakesin to know about the secret of Ajanta which is in his kingdom.

Kamali and Kannan knows a secret tunnel through which Gundodharan,Chatrugna etc. are going out of the fort for which Kannan's father takes care. Kamali knew this by over hearing once.

Pulakesin did not leave immediately. So the doors of the fort were still closed.After three days he left leaving a small army behind with an order to destroy all the villages of Pallava Kingdom. Naganandi was sent out in a secret tunnel. Aayanar and Sivagami wanted to go out of the fort. So, they were sent out by Kamali through the same tunnel.

Both of them were captured by Chalukyas. Pulakesin had ordered to cut the limbs of the sculptors and capture ladies. Sivagami requested Naganandi to save his father. He dressed himself as Pulakesin(their appearances were similar). He saved the carvings of Mahabalipuram (Maamallapuram) and Aayanar. But Aayanar's leg was already broken when he was taken to a hill to cut the limbs.

By this time Kamali came to know her mistake of sending them outside the fort.She approached Mahendra Pallava.He felt insulted of Sivagami being taken as a captive. He had mentioned about her to Harsha and Pulakesin can establish that he had won Pallavas by showing her.

After defeating Pandya , Narsimha and others went to Paranjyothi's native place.They were give a warm welcome by the villagers. Then they went to see Sivagami in a village where they left her after floods. They were told that she was called to Kanchi.While returning they received a message from Mahendra Pallava stating that he is going to fight Pulakesin to save his subjects from the attrocities of Chalukyas.

Naganandi (disguised as Pulakesin) fought with Mahendra Pallava with the army left by Pulakesin. When Narsimha joined the war the Chalukyas had to flee. At that time Naganadi stabbed Mahendra Pallava with a poisoned knife. So, Narsimha could not follow the defeated warriors. He attended his father.Mahendra Pallava was sent immediately to Kanchi for treatment. Paranjyothi had called his uncle for treatment. After a long process Mahendra Pallava was better. He could regain his consciousness.

Meanwhile after sending back Mahendra Pallava to Kanchi for treatment Narsimha went to meet Aayanar.There he came to know about Sivagami had been taken as a captive. Before this he felt Sivagami and Aayanar were safe inside the fort . He could not bear the loss.

After few days Narsimha wanted to speak to Aayanar about Sivagami.On the way he met a lady with a familiar face. It was Chatrugna who wanted to inform Aayanar about Sivagami. Chatrugna sent by Mahendra Pallava followed Sivagami in disguise as a lady. He said that she refused to come back.Naganandi (in Pulakesin's role) was asked by Sivagami to release many ladies (captives).Naganandi released them for her to come to Vathapi whole-heartedly. Narsimha could not tolerate of Sivagami going to Vathapi willingly.

During her travel she was very proud that she could save many when Narsimha could not do this.She also understood that an emperor having a kingdom, three times bigger than the Pallava Kingdom was ready to do anything she says. She understood this by the expression of Naganandi.She wanted to show this to Narsimha.She also thought that both Pulakesin and Naganandi are the same person. (as Mahendra Pallava goes in disguise).

Naganandi disclosed his love for Sivagami and asked to arrange for her safety to Pulakesin and removed his disguise. Pulakesin became jealous. He hated Sivagami even more. Naganandi was sent to Vaengi, asked to help their brother Vishnuvardhan.

Upon Mahendra Pallava's plan Narsimha, Paranjyothi, Chatrugna, Gundodharan, Kannan and his father who is also a spy started their journey in disguise towards Vathapi to bring back Sivagami.

Sivagami was placed in a palace in Vathapi. One day,Pulakesin asked her to dance in his court. She refused. Pulakesin left by saying that she was not kept under house arrest and she can go around Vathapi in palanquin.She wanted to test her freedom immediately. She went around the city. It was not artistic as Kanchi.

Suddenly in a street corner she met captives of Pallava Kingdom were being beaten by a whip. When she asked to stop this she was asked to dance there.Now she understood Pulakesin's plan. She danced. This went on for a month. Though many Chalukya admirers wanted to have friendship with her she did not talk to anyone. One day when she finished her dance Naganandi came there. He begged her pardon and said that he was out of station.He also told her that she will be sent back if she wanted to go back. She was not happy about this.She vowed that her lover Maamalla would come, defeat Chalukyas and take her back. This made Naganandi happy.

Maamalla comes to know about her dance in the street.Then Maamalla and Paranjyothi went to meet Sivagami on a new moon night in disguise. He asked her many times to return. She said about her vow. Narsimha promised that her vow will be done and he too have vengence. Even then she refused. He requested for her lame father. He also said that she will loose all his love for her by this refusal. She replied that she did not want love,wedding etc. She wanted only revenge. Paranjyothi asked Maamalla to take her by force. But he did not to do that. They left.

In Kanchi, Mahendra Pallava requested all his ministers to co-operate with his son in future. He also asked Maamalla to marry Pandya Princess, Vaanamadevi, as his last wish so, that he can succeed the throne and attack Vathapi with full support from the south. Maamalla agreed.
